FAQs

What is the difference between SST and other forms of counselling?

In SST, we focus on one problematic area and see how we can use your strengths to help your areas of weakness to help you feel less stuck.

SST is simple, focussed and convenient therapy that is also usually cheaper than other forms of longer term counselling.

Research shows that the majority of SST clients are satisfied with the outcome. More help is available if needed.

Further sessions are available?

Absolutely. At the follow up call, we can discuss options:

  • return for a further single session
  • booking a block of between 6 and 12 weekly 60 minute sessions, or
  • signposting to another experienced therapist in your area.

How long do I have to wait for an appointment?

Once confirmed for SST, you will usually be offered an appointment within a week, or two at the most. SST is about delivering therapy at the point of need: no long waiting lists.

Do you offer face-to-face sessions?

No, I only work online currently.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Our sessions together are completely confidential (unless someone's personal safety is significantly at risk).

What training do you have?

I am a fully qualified, registered and accredited integrative counsellor. I have additional specialist training in psychosexual and relationship training (sex therapy) and pover 2000 hours of face-to-face clinical experience with individuals and couples in a variety of settings.
