Single Session Therapy (SST)

What is SST?

Single Session Therapy (also known as SST) is an intentional endeavour where the therapist and client work together to help the client in one session, knowing that more help is available if needed.

Together the therapist and client clarify the purpose, agree the focus of the session and set the session goal.

The therapist will identify and consider different tools and resources available to the client in order to help the client move away from whatever is holding them back or keeping them feeling stuck, and towards tackling the problem.

What sort of problem is SST suitable for?

Emotional or behavioural problems that leave the client feeling stuck and looking for a way to become unstuck may be suitable for SST. If a client is looking for ongoing therapy, then SST is not suitable for them.

What does SST look like?

SST comprises of one online session of up to 60 minutes plus a short follow up phone call or email a few weeks later.

The option for further sessions can also be discussed.

What happens next?

Register your interest by sending an email through this website.

A short questionnaire will be emailed by return.

Complete and return the questionnaire - this will be assessed to ensure the issues are suitable for SST.

If suitable, a confirmation email will be sent with a payment link together with a few options for the session appointment.

The session is confirmed on receipt of payment.
